About Vector Research
Vector Research is the company of Stephen Mudge. Stephen graduated from the University of New England
(Armidale, NSW, Australia) in 1976 with a BSc (Hons 1) in Geophysics. He joined Geopeko Ltd in 1977 and
worked throughout Australia on numerous base-metal, gold and uranium exploration projects, which included a
period with Austriex Aerial Surveys.
From 1981 to 1998 Stephen worked with RGC Exploration Pty Ltd as Chief Geophysicist with responsibility for
managing the Group’s geophysical exploration and research for base-metals, tin, gold, heavy mineral
sands, diamonds, coal and iron ore throughout Australia, Asia, the South-West Pacific, the USA and South
America. He was also a Director of RGC Group Superannuation Pty Ltd with responsibility for managing the RGC
employee superannuation scheme.
In 1999, following 23 years of professional experience, Stephen established Vector Research Pty Ltd as a
geophysical consulting and research company, of which he is the Principal Officer.
Stephen holds several positions in the Australian Society of Exploration Geophysicists (ASEG) and is
currently a member of the ASEG Research Foundation and author of the Excitations articles in the ASEG
publication PREVIEW.
Stephen is deeply interested in new and innovative techniques and strategies for the discovery of new
mineral, petroleum and groundwater deposits. He has a keen interest in electronics, measurement systems,
data-processing algorithms and technical writing. He has extensive experience working closely with management,
geologists and exploration teams, and has a number of publications that report new developments in geophysics.
